What is heaven supposed to be like?

i always pictured it as a place where you go and it's a big courtyard, and there's one big building in the center of it, and it's a giant place with thousands of doors and each door leads to your personalized little world where you can do anything. But what does the bible describe it, or what do other people think of it as.
