House we are renting foreclosed?

We rent a house from a lady (broker) who claimed to be the owners wife we found out that she isn't the broker and doesn't work for the real estate agency that is handling the house. We called the county assessors office who told us the names of the owners a man and woman who not only don't have the same last name as the broker who said she is married to the owner. We told her we will pay the rent to the owners of the house with their ID's she got infuriated hung up and filed an unlawful detain er which she posted on the door when the court served us the same unlawful detain er it was signed by some other lady with the same address as the broker are the papers correctly filed are we obligated to pay her or the true owners we do have the rent money
