What do you ask an author to write when he/she signs your book?

All the ones I have they authors have chosen what they wrote themselves. I have one I particularly love, from this author I'm friends with on a blog and on Twitter, she sent me my favorite book by her "just because", as a surprise, when she knew I was going through a really tough time. That's what's written. I love it sooo much.
