So i just picked my first pepper and cucumbers from my garden?

this is the first time i tried to grow them. They aren't bad the cucumbers have a little too many seeds so i will pick them sooner. my question is they don't taste like store bought vegetables...is it because these are home grown and im used to store bought vegetables?
